Bright Directions College Savings Plan

Portfolio Description
The age-based aggressive portfolio is allocated primarily in equity investment funds during the early years of the designated beneficiary’s life. As the beneficiary nears college age, the equity allocation decreases, and the fixed income and the money market allocations increase. When the Beneficiary attains age 9, 13, 17, and 21, the age-based aggressive portfolio automatically realigns with a decrease in the stock portion and an increase in the fixed income and the money market allocations.
Portfolio Objectives
This portfolio seeks to provide current income and some growth of capital by investing 20% of its assets in a diversified portfolio of domestic equity, international equity, and real estate funds, and 80% in fixed income and money market funds.
Portfolio Strategies
The portfolio invests in other mutual funds according to a fixed formula that typically results in an allocation of 13.5% domestic equity funds, 1.5% real esate funds, 5% international equity funds, 60% fixed income funds, and 20% money market funds. The portfolio manages cash flows to maintain the stated asset allocation. The percentages targeted for each of the underlying investment funds are reflected in the accompanying pie chart titled "Investment Structure." The stock holdings in the underlying mutual funds consist primarily of large-cap U.S. stocks and to a lesser extent, mid- and small-cap U.S. stocks and foreign stocks.

Current performance may be lower or higher than the performance data above. In addition, the performance information set forth above in the "Fund Performance" section does not reflect the charges assessed by the program. If it did, the annual total returns would be lower.
